Also, in 1869, Ad Cason built the first school aka as the Little Red Schoolhouse. One room and constructed only big enough to accommodate the Rinearson and Cason children, six years later it became part of School District No. 48.

House built by Ad Cason and later purchased by Judge Harvey Cross House

As the oldest house in Gladstone, the home still stands at its original location at the junction of Arlington St., Berkley St., and 82nd. Ave. Drive. Over the years, the house has undergone numerousl structural changes. This photo shows a front addition that was either removed or entirely enclosed. Later, a wide front porch was added to the front and a covered car park was attached to the left side.
